There are trend followers who enter on breakouts. Then, there are trend followers who enter on pullbacks.

Not all breakouts are successful.

Not all pullbacks are successful.

If you take only breakouts, you’ll have many fakeouts.

If you take only pullbacks, you’ll miss trends.

Apply this to your account and compounding your lot size.

The same thing will be applicable.

If you add lots on new equity high, not all times you’ll have complete trend up from there.

If you add lots on drawdowns, not all times you’ll have a drawdown when you expect.

Net net, at the end of the day, whether you’re sizing up on equity highs, or sizing up on drawdowns, the results are most likely going to be similar.

Prioritize what you have tested to be a better method in your backtesting and follow that strictly.
